It was initially due to be a one off event, but we had such an amazing time and it was soooo popular, that we've been kindly allowed back to the park for more night time running adventures!
Thank you to everyone that joined us in 2025 for a very very special night edition of the National multi-award winning 5k walk, jog, run safari... AND WHAT A NIGHT!
A very special event taking all of the incredible illuminations around the fantastic Yorkshire Wildlife Park :)
Just like our Autumn 5k event but with a route to take in the fantastic illuminations and maybe spot (or hear!) some of our night time animal friends!
With a start in the grounds of the park and a finish up in the hive!
The event is timed and licensed as per normal 5k and we've got amazing snacks and medals at the finish for you!
And as always we've got a special focus 'NIGHT' animal to inspire all our medals and t-shirts!
We also encourage all runners to 'NEON' up for the event, but please no torches, the course is subtly lit so you can keep safe and enjoy the illuminations without disturbing the animals with torch light. The route sticks to the main paths so it's a great surface.
Please note due to the night time nature and how the course is laid out were afraid this is one of our very few events where we not able to allow buggies (we will continue to review and see what we can tweak, we do our very best to make sure that everyone can take part x)
To help make sure everyone has the run they want to run then we're setting everyone off in predicted time order (in both waves), we capture your predicted run time and then we set you off in order of your time ... so the fastest predicted runners goes off first, and don't worry it's chip timed so you time only starts once you pass the finish line!
It's a great way to kick start your January! .... WE'RE ALSO LOOKING FOR AN ARMY OF VOLUNTEERS to help with this unique event, with glow sticks and lights to help support the runners! - join our Facebook volunteer page here
Walk, Jog and Run alongside some amazing animals and illuminations!
Once you've done your run, we've got a fantastic medal for you and cake!
You're then free to enjoy the evenings illuminations at a steadier pace! (included in your ticket)
Access to the illumination for runners is after the run has completed from 19:30-21:00

The incredible Binturong are our 2026 Night Time 5k featured animals!
Famous for smelling just like fresh popcorn, these adorable creatures can be found amongst the treetops of Himalayan Pass!
Binturong are also known as Bearcats, however they are neither a bear nor a cat!
Native to Southeastern Asia, Binturongs are classed as Vulnerable in the wild due to their dramatic population decrease.
They are one of very few mammals with a prehensile tail (used for grasping or holding onto branches).
And yes, binturongs are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active at night. They are also crepuscular, showing activity during twilight hours.
They spend their days resting high in the trees and their nights moving through the canopy in search of food (like runners... but not the resting in trees bit!)

Yup, we always hear athletes moaning about how they don't have enough Binturong running t-shirts ... well we've listed so here you go !
They are on order so w only have limited spares , click here to add one if you forgot when you got your ticket or if you're feeling lucky... then pop along on event day and see what spares we have :)
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the kit we bought to get active also helped others get active?
Simple idea, right? But surprisingly difficult in practice!
It’s going to be a fun journey to get there — and by buying this kit, you’ll help us make a start in 'moving with purpose'
