WHAT AN INCREDIBLE 2025 EVENT! Our biggest ever event was so special, we raised record breaking amounts of money for our Okapi friends and all had an incredible time! The outfits were exceptional; our volunteers helped deliver an unbelievable morning and your feedback on the event was probably the best ever; so thank you! You are all incredible and we cant wait for 2026 xx

Curlys and the Yorkshire Wildlife Park team are very pleased to be returning with the fantastic 10k running safari, in support of the Wildlife Foundation for a fourth year !

We have a different animal theme every event, so far for the 10k we've had Tapirs, Lions and Rhinos. FOR 2026 we are really excited to be partnered up with our African Painted Dog friends and we've some exciting updates on projects with the Wildlife Foundation with these furry friends coming soon!  find out more about our Canine Chums - click here

It's a great route for PBs, and one big single loop of the park and grounds taking in as much of the park as possible :)

It's on mixed surface, so roads, park paths, a spot of trail and some grass... but all very runner friendly and road shoes are fine!

Everyone is welcome! It's a super friendly run in a unique setting. Whether you walk, jog, run, or a bit of everything, it's a great day out :)

Run alongside some amazing animals, including Lions, Rhinos, Giraffes, Rhinos, Baboons, Tapir's! and many amazing animals!

Bring your spectators, junior runners and all of your running friends :-)

Once you've done your run, then enjoy the whole day out at the park (all included in your entry ticket :) )

Go for a PB on this fully UK Athletics licensed course, or take a more leisurely view, and run with friends in fancy dress!

Check out the event day information pack here as we approach the big day (it will answer all your most common questions)

Spring 10k 2026 - Introducing our African Painted Dog friend

Every one of our Run for Wildlife events has a unique animal theme to help raise awareness. It also provides us with our design ideas for the medal and optional t-shirt.

Say hello to the African Painted Dog...our 2026 featured animal.

Playful pack-orientated animals. Their reserve at the park has a variety of habitats for them to explore. The dogs will often dig their own dens and shelter in the naturalistic caves found around the watering hole. Painted Dogs live in packs led by a lead (alpha) female and male.

Although there is a hierarchy, there is generally little aggression amongst the pack.

Numbers :(

Painted Dogs are the second most endangered carnivore in Africa. In the 1900’s, more than 500,000 dogs roamed Africa across 39 counties. Today, less than 5,000 Painted Dogs remain in just a few territories.

Did you know?

Bonds between pack individuals are so strong that the fittest pack members will often hunt and provide food for other sick and elderly members. Painted Dogs rely on cooperation to survive. Cooperation enables them to be one of the most successful predators in the world. On average they can catch their prey 80% of the time. These dogs are cursorial hunters meaning they pursue their prey in a long, open chase.

They are cunning and stealthy hunters but rely on their incredible vision to locate prey such as wildebeest, impala or zebra. During the hunt dogs will communicate with each other using high pitched yapping calls.

OUR NEW SHOP THAT DOES 'GOOD THINGS'

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the kit we bought to get active also helped others get active?

Simple idea, right? But surprisingly difficult in practice!

It’s going to be a fun journey to get there — and by buying this kit, you’ll help us make a start in 'moving with purpose'

When you buy lovely things from us, you’re creating micro-grants that help people get active.

These are focussed on the local area based on where you collect, but the item from or have the item delivered to (delivery options coming soon!)

When you buy something from us, 10% of the price you pay goes directly into our micro-grants. Which we award locally x

We're starting with a specially designed hoodie, a snuggly bobble hat and our snood :)
