It’s not too late to save polar bears, but we need support from around the world.

The virtual 30 kilometer challenge helps to support The Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation’s Project Polar; a ground-breaking initiative in the world of conservation, welfare and research for polar bears.

Did you know that 30k is around the distance a polar bear walks in 1 day? Take part in Run for Wildlife and walk, run, jog or skip your way to 30k in 30 days!

30k Virtual Challenge

The virtual 30k race can take place wherever you want and whenever suits you. You can do all the distance in one go or spread it out between the start and finish date. It can be completed walking around your house, on a treadmill, on the streets, at a running event, hiking up a mountain, walking the dog or anywhere else you can imagine! At the end you will receive an amazing 30k challenge polar bear event t-shirt to say thanks and to show your support to others.

You simply track and log your process on the Run for Wildlife system along with our supportive community who will be with you every step of the way to cheer you on, give you training tips and offer virtual high fives!

By simply signing up to take part in the event you’ve already helped as 20% of your entry will go straight to Yorkshire Wildlife Park to support their Project Polar. Your actions today will help Polar Bears International take bold action against climate change and help to protect polar bears in the wild.

In addition, the more people that sign up to the 30k virtual challenge, the more opportunity we have of sharing the message and educating others on the cause. Sometimes a little bit of knowledge goes a long way! If you feel you would like to support further then when you enter the event you can create a just giving page and encourage friends and family to sponsor you on your challenge.

Polar Bear International

You can join the event at anytime until March 30th, where the virtual start line will be held and official launch of the virtual event begins. You then have 30 days to compete the 30k challenge!

We will then celebrate at the virtual finish line on April the 29th and our polar bear participants will receive their well-earned polar bear t-shirts!

We love challenging ourselves and believe your world gets a little better when you set yourself a physical challenge. This, combined with our love for wildlife and the natural world around us, gave us an idea! We saw the opportunity to combine our greatest passions together… and well the rest is Run for Wildlife!
